WALKER VALLEY, WA

SPECIMENS

The Above photograph was posted at the Washington Mineral Council Website depicting Geodes collected at their Walker Valley, WA Quarry.  They indicated that the visible Quartz on/in the Basaltic Rock Matrix, center of photograph, are Geodes.

I must take issue with this.  We visit this Quarry several times per year.  While we have found several nice Geodes in the Brown/Tan Matrix illustrated on the left side of the photograph, I believe that the Quartz in the Basaltic Rock are portions of Vugs and not Geodes. As with everything in this World, I may be incorrect, but I am inclined to think not.
